Duquesa landfill row for the first time in court today

Santo Domingo.-  Representatives of the Duquesa landfill contractor Lajun Corp. will appear for the first time today Wednesday in the Superior Administrative Court, at the request of the Santo Domingo Norte City Council (ASDN), the latest development in the months-long dispute over payments to process trash.

The Court is expected to rule on the ASDN’s request for the immediate and definitive termination of the contract with Lajun.

The lawsuit also requests the designation of a provisional judicial administrator at Duquesa, filed by the ministries of the Environment and of Public Health, and the Council members of Greater Santo Domingo, until the high Court rules on the request to strike the agreement.
