The Northwest still under alert as flooding continues

Santo Domingo.- In the wake of the downpours over the country since Monday, the Emergency Operations Center (COE) continues its flash flooding alert for several municipalities of Montecristi province (northwest).

COE director, Juan Manuel Méndez, said on this occasion some municipalities remain under alert because the most flooded areas have yet to be inspected.

“This allows the Education Ministry to make the decision that classes can be taught in municipalities that are not on a red alert, because the protocol establishes that red alert suspends teaching.”
