Top bishop wants to escalate fight on corruption

Mao, Dominican Republic.- Dominican Episcopal Conference president Diómedes Espinal on Monday called to escalate the fight against corruption and impunity.

He said it’s time to confront selfishness, mediocrity, corruption and impunity and prepare to transform the human being into a being of good. “It’s urgent to promote values such as responsibility, honesty, service, solidarity, love of neighbor as well as others, to eradicate the anti-values and build a better society.”

The also Mao-Montecristi Diocese bishop delivered the keynote address in the 25th annual Commencement of the Technological University of Santiago-Mao Campus, where he was bestowed a “Doctor Honoris Causa.”
