Downpours over most of the country spark flash flood alerts

Santo Domingo.- A trough associated with a frontal system will bring downpours in a large part of the country starting Tuesday, according to the National Weather Office (Onamet).

It forecasts rain accompanied by thunderstorms over all regions except the Northwest.

Onamet issued alerts for flash flooding, swollen rivers, streams and landslides for Espaillat, Duarte, La Vega, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Hato Mayor and The Seibo provinces.
