Duarte’s birthday finds Dominican Republic ‘decomposed’
San Francisco DM, Dominican Republic.- In a mass Fri. to mark Founding Father Juan Pablo Duarte’s 205th birthday, bishop Fausto Ramón Mejía deplored Dominican Republic’s state of social decomposition.
With senior military officials and civil authorities attending, the prelate urged for a change of attitude for the good of the country.
“At the moment we’re going through a great social turbulence in the entire world and also in our country. There is a word that almost every day, wherever one goes, we are hearing it: what’s happening to us? The inversion of ethical and moral values was not long in coming.”
