Sunshine back for Easter break

Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) is forecasting good weather conditions for this Thursday, with some clouds but plenty of sunshine, just in time for the Semana Santa long weekend.

However, the flood alert for rivers and streams in the provinces of La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor and Samaná is still in place.

The weather forecasting office is advising captains of small and medium-sized boats along the Atlantic coast to remain in port. In the Bay of Samaná and the Caribbean coast, they are advised to stay close to the shoreline and not to venture out on the open seas. However, between Barahona to Pedernales on the southwestern coast, the advice is to stay in port because of abnormal wind and wave activity.
