Industrialists call landfill and Odebrecht lawsuits ‘shameless’

Santo Domingo.-  Dominican Industries Association (AIRD) president Campos de Moya, on Tues. called the lawsuits by the landfill contractor Lajún Corp. and Odebrecht against the Dominican Govt. “shameless.”

“In those two cases, the government is right to go to arbitration,” he said.

He said Lajún’s claim of compensation, “after having made such a big mess,” should be responded by the Dominican government with a prosecution “to the partners who have lent themselves to such shamelessness.”

De Moya spoke at the launch of the III Dominican Industry Congress, that aims to update proposed strategies for the sector’s development.

In his speech, the head of the AIRD said progress has been made on issues such as production chain, infrastructure, trade and export policies. “The failure to fully implement the proposed actions threatens us to teeter the little achieve.”
