US House to honor late political leader José Francisco Peña Gómez

New York.- Dominican-born US representative (NY-D.) Adriano Espaillat, will host a recognition for the late political leader, José Francisco Peña Gómez, in a non-partisan event open to the public in the Capitol, with special guests including senior opposition leaders and civil society representatives at 4pm Wed.

Espaillat NY office director Aneirys Batista said the activity will honor Peña Gómez’s career and contributions both to the Dominican Republic and to Dominicans abroad, and taking into account his close and permanent ties with the United States.

After the solemn ceremony in which Espaillat will introduce the piece motivating Peña Gómez’s inclusion into the Book of Congress, a reception will be held 6pm to 7:30pm in the Raybury congressional building.
