Bishop calls ruling party a ‘pot of crickets’
Santo Domingo.- Bani Diocese bishop Víctor Masalles, on Tues. said in Dominican Republic’s ruling party (PLD) there are more people who should be suspended due to corruption and other scandals.
When asked about the suspension of senior PLD leaders Félix Bautista and Víctor Díaz Rúa, he said the ruling party has become a scenario of conflicts, “unfortunately, in a pot of crickets and we must determine who are the crickets and who aren’t, because in the country there is a tendency to cover up comrades, given the lack of culture to bring crimes to light.”
“I saw a caricature in which two were thrown off the PLD bus, before a crowd that was chanting corruption, handing them over to them, I think that’s the best definition, there are more people to throw out from that bus,” Masalles said.
He added that Dominican society is dissatisfied with the corruption in the Odebrecht case, because it understands that there are still more people in it.
