Industries slam protest, ask transporters’ patience

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Industries Association (AIRD) president Campos de Moya on Tues. slammed the grassroots groups for their announced protest against the spiraling in fuel prices.

He called the planned taxiing starting 4:30pm, from the Quisqueya stadium to the Mirador park, a “disrespect to society.”

He said the protesters will “spend fuel to show that it’s expensive,”  and instead invited the transporters to reach out to the authorities to determine “what’s really happening in the international market.”

He said the transport sector must be patient and work together, since in his view the country doesn’t have the capacity to buy fuels in the long term at stable prices.
