Chinese business leaders seek ties: Official

Santo Domingo.- Economy minister Isidoro Santana on Mon. said Chinese business leaders have expressed interest in establishing commercial relations with the country.

The contacts came at the end of two seminars held this month in Beijing and Shenzhen, where Santana, who headed a delegation of Dominican officials, touted the advantages of investing in and trading with his country.

In both seminars, Santana talked about the “Dominican Republic: possibilities of trade, investment and cooperation, within the framework of relations with China”, officially established on May 1, and as part of the dialogue processes have produced since then.

“We are great admirers of China’s spectacular economic, technological, scientific and cultural progress,” the official said in a statement, which also noted Dominican Republic’s high growth and stable prices.
