Dominican capital drenched as downpours linger

Santo Domingo.-  The Emergency Operations Center (COE) on Tues. placed additional provinces and the National District under heightened alert for flash flooding and swollen rivers, as well as landslides, from a tropical wave that brings downpours across the country.

The COE said the number of provinces placed under heightened alert was increased to 10.

“During the next 24 to 36 hours, there will continue to be downpours, thunderstorms, some gusts of wind with greater incidence in the East, Northeast, Southeast and central regions of the country,” the COE said in a statement.
