Santo Domingo.- Dozens of organizations and hundreds of volunteers will join the cleanup of beaches and riverbanks across the Dominican Republic on Sat., to mark International Beach Cleanup Day.

Environment minister, Ángel Estévez, urged the population to participate in any of the efforts to be held in all provinces, by registering at www.medioambiente.gob.do.

The activities are coordinated by the Environment Ministry together with the Dominican Naval Auxiliaries, Propagas Foundation, Center for Agricultural and Forestry Development (CEDAF) and Mullen Lowe Inter-America.

“The important thing of this day is that with the will of all we carry a message of education to the citizens,” Estévez said in a statement.
