Most wanted Dominican ‘vanished’ over a year ago

A. Castillo.

Santo Domingo.- The search for drug trafficking convict Alejandro Castillo Paniagua (Quirinito) has been apparently called off by state security agencies, after one year and three months since his escape.

Castillo was pronounced “dead” on July 5, 2017, by medical examiner Orlando Herrera Robles, after he was called to gated community of San Francisco de Macoris, Duarte province.

Robles certified his “death” from heart failure or an acute myocardial infarction resulting from cancer, but the cadaver wasn’t buried in any cemetery and the convict vanished as of that moment.

El Nacional reports that the Police Criminal Investigations Directorate, Military Intelligence and the National Department of Investigations (DNI) have been searching for over a year, without a clue on his whereabouts.
