Migration stops more than 500 aliens during operations

The Directorate General of Migration (DGM), reports on the detention of 523 foreigners during interdiction operations in different sectors of the provinces of Azua, Dajabón, and Santiago.

Operations were carried out in the sectors of Los Pilones in Azua, El Pino, Capotillo and Don Miguel in Dajabón, and Embrujo I, Olla de Caimito, El Ensueño, Gurabo, Beijing, Mari López, Licey in Santiago de los Caballeros.

A staff composed of inspectors and agents of the DGM, with the support of military personnel and representatives of the Public Ministry were deployed in the provinces mentioned earlier in the North and South of the country.

After the purification process, 386 undocumented Haitian nationals were transferred to the border crossings of Dajabón and Elías Piña to be processed and deported to their country.

The immigration interdiction system was carried out after an intelligence operation was carried out in the communities mentioned earlier that allowed locating the undocumented.

On instructions from the general director of the institution, Máximo William Muñoz Delgado, the DGM will continue to carry out operations and other actions to enforce the provisions of the General Migration Law 285-04, which regulates and regulates migratory flows in the Dominican Republic.
