Colombian kingpin obtained a Dominican passport, ID

Santo Domingo.- Central Electoral Board (JCE) president Julio César Castaños Guzmán on Tues. announced an investigation to determine how Colombian kingpin Julián Alberto Jiménez Monsalve (Machete), captured in Punta Cana Friday, obtained a Dominican ID.

“The JCE reports that #PteJCE Castaños Guzmán has just ordered an immediate investigation into alleged identity documents carried by Julián Alberto Jiménez Monsalve, alias Machete, at the time of his arrest,” the official tweeted.

Jiménez, wanted in his country for more than 40 crimes, according to reports, was hiding out in a luxury villa in Punta Cana, Colombian authorities revealed Monday.

He had a Dominican passport and ID card, according to reports.
