Santo Domingo.-  Ruling party (PLD) senior leader Temístocles Montás on Thurs. with “traces of irresponsibility” and which aggravates the internal differences in the organization, the allegations voiced Sunday by former president Leonel Fernández ‘s campaign, which accused the government of plotting a dirty campaign to harm the former chief executive’s popularity.

Montas said the PLD statutes stipulate that one of the responsibilities of the president is to ensure unity and that the attitude of Fernandez’s camp seems to “seek to divide the organization instead of keeping it unified.”

“I call the attention of ex-president Leonel Fernández in the sense that he, as president of the Party, is the main responsible for guaranteeing the unity of the organization and with reckless denunciations like that, that his team does constantly, what’s happening is deepening the internal situation of our organization.”
