One-year pretrial detention in Police Colonel’s murder

Bani, Dominican Republic.- The Peravia province (south) Permanent Attention Office on Thurs. ruled one-year pretrial detention for alleged drug traffickers Rafael Diaz (Buche), Luis Miguel Santana (El Chamo) and Steven Ruiz, charged with gunning down National Police Col. Daniel Ramos, at a drug house in Baní.

The court also ruled for the prosecution’s request to declare the case complex and widen the investigation.

The accused were remanded to Baní Prison for the colonel’s murder on January 8.

According to prosecutors there are at least 10 people involved in the crime, which could be arrested as the investigation progresses.
