Cut cables crash Dominican Republic Web service

Santo Domingo.- The telecom Claro on Thursday tweeted that its Internet service was interrupted nationwide when two fiber optic cables were severed by the work to widen the Puerto Plata-Santiago highway.

“The second of the cuts affected the fiber optic system of the redundancy system. Our technicians work quickly to restore service. Thanks for your understanding,” the America Movil subsidiary said in a second tweet.
