President Medina’s sister spreads sweet cash in viral video

Santo Domingo.- Looking to gain support for a possible senatorial bid in western San Juan de la Maguana province, current deputy Lucia Medina is seen handing out cash in a video that went viral.

In mid-April, the ruling party (PLD) lawmaker visited several municipal districts, to hand out to poor people the ingredients to make “habichuela con dulce,” a traditional dessert based on beans popular during Easter.

“Today I brought them the real bean, beans with sweet, which is made with beans, made with sugar, made with milk, put your biscuit, add cinnamon, and I made it happen … You buy the sweet potato … perfect, thank you for waiting for me, do it in order, there’s enough for everyone,” president Danilo Medina’s sister told the locals.

Another video that went viral reportedly showing her, “handing out money” to swimmers at a river in San Juan de la Maguana.
