Walking at night where they live scares most Dominicans

Santo Domingo.-  67% of Dominicans don’t feel safe walking at night where they live, according to data from the Global Peace Index (GPI).

The figure places the Dominican Republic in the third spot in percentage of people who cont feel safe walking alone in their communities at night, followed only by Venezuela, which ranks worst with 88%; and El Salvador, at 72%.

On the same list figure Liberia (65%), Brazil (64%), Afghanistan (64%), South Africa (63%), Botswana (62%) and Mauritania (61%).

The Dominican Republic is ranks 91st of the 163 countries evaluated by the GPI.
