Major opposition party says its phone was wiretapped

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic’s major opposition party (PRM) on Tues. said it will refer today to reports that one of the telephones of its National Secretary of Finance, Eduardo Sanz Lovatón, was wiretapped by the Attorney General’s Office.

After the meeting of his Political Commission, Lovatón said the party will fix its state position regarding telephone interceptions.

“In the meeting tomorrow (Wed.), the PRM will officially refer to this issue, but I particularly assure you that we will not stand for it,” said Sanz.
