Killer gets the country’s 2nd 40-year maximum prison sentence

Santo Domingo.- The Santo Domingo Este 1st panel court on Fri. handed down the country’s second maximum penalty of 40 years in prison against a man who assaulted and killed another with an illegal firearm in the Las Palmas de Alma Rosa district.

The sentence was handed down against Mantovani Pericles Muñoz, 29, who gunned down Jhony Franklin Cuello.

Muñoz becomes the Justice Ministry’s second such conviction in less than 20 days, after the prosecutors presented overwhelming evidence against the accused.
