Dominican-Cuba talks focus on human trafficking

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic and Cuba held the XI Round of Migratory Conversations, to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

This event was part of a MOU on migration issues signed between both countries on August 22, 2014, to ensure that migration is safe and regular, preventing human trafficking and the smuggling of migrants.

“Under instructions from Foreign Minister, Miguel Vargas, Deputy Minister of Foreign for Consular and Migration Affairs, Marjorie Espinosa, led the Dominican delegation formed by representatives of the Directorate of Migration, the Attorney General’s Office and the National Police,” the Foreign Ministry said.

The Cuban part was headed by the vice minister of Foreign Policy, Ana Teresita González Fraga. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Dominican Chancellery.
