Land Court fires 19 employees on irregularities

Santo Domingo.-The Judicial Branch Council on Tues. said it fired 19 employees of the Real Estate Jurisdiction, due to “irregularities” in the fulfillment of their responsibilities.

It said that within the proven irregularities figure bribery, the approval of files omitting rigorous technical observations, providing confidential information to individuals, manipulation of results, allocation of cases in exchange for benefits to relatives and associates, violation of protocols, concealment of frauds by collaborators of the institution, among others.

“In a meeting held May 21, 2019, the Council determined the dismissal of 19 employees of the National Directorate of Cadastral Inspections (DNMC) and ordered the referral of said files to the Justice Ministry,” the Judicial Branch said in a statement.

It adds that “the decision accepts the recommendations contained in the report of the Disciplinary Commission of the Administrative Servants of the Judiciary, dated March 15, 2019.”
