Gasoline stations halt fuel sales in central provinces

Santiago.- The National Gasoline Retailers Association (Anadegas) on Thursday halted fuel sales at stations in Santiago and Espaillat provinces (central) as part of their demand a more transparent regulation of prices.

During the six-hour shutdown the fuel retailers demanded that the Industry and Commerce Ministry lower the price of fuel, which is set every Friday, and eliminate the “mafia” in the sector.

Anadegas staged the strike despite the government’s warning to desist or face “legal consequences.”
