Police: US$8,000 were offered for Ortiz’s murder

Santo Domingo.- The Attorney General on Wed. identified Ramón Martínez Pérez (Rolfi) or Rolfi Ferreras Cruz as the person who at 9:45pm Sunday shot former Red Sox star David Ortiz once in the back at a Santo Domingo Este bar.

National Police director Ney Battista said RD$400,000 (US$8,000) were offered for Ortiz’s murder.

However, the motive or the person who contracted the hit on Ortiz haven’t been established.

The chief of police affirmed that the attempted murder will be fully investigated.
