A suspect in David Ortiz shooting is on the Gov. payroll

Santo Domingo.- Sixto David Fernández Vásquez, “El Modelo,” whom authorities say was the real target of the attack in which David Ortiz was shot, figures on the Interior and Police Ministry payroll with a salary of RD$10,000.

According to the Ministry transparency documents, Fernández is an inspector of the Alcoholic Beverage Control Department (COBA) since January 2015.

Fernández, who has an auto paint shop in the sprawling  Villa Consuelo sector, was sent to one-year pretrial detention.
