Survey: Leonel Fernández 46.0%, Luis Abinader 40%

Santo Domingo.- The pollster Asisa Research on Mon. revealed the results of a survey in which former president Leonel Fernández, of the ruling party (PLD) obtained 46.0% and Luis Abinader, of the opposition PRM, obtained 40%.

The survey found that 12% don’t have a preference for any and 2% are still undecided.

ASISA said the study was ordered by a group of businessmen but didn’t cite whom, noting that their names were provided to the Central Electoral Board.

Rejection

When asked to consider all the possible candidates from all parties, which of them they’d never vote, former president Hipólito Mejía drew 23%, followed by president Danilo Medina (21%), and Leonel Fernández (19%).

The study conducted from July 16 to 19 which polled 1,200 voters face-to-face in their homes has a margin of error +/- 2.3% and a 95% confidence level.
