Ex-President would win Dominican ruling party primary with 50.5%: poll

L. Fernandez.

Santo Domingo.- Former President Leonel Fernández would win the primary of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) with 50.5%, above all other presidential hopefuls of the ruling party.

However, the presidential candidate of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), Luis Abinader, is the political figure with the best image, surpassing Santo Domingo mayor David Collado, Fernández, vice president Margarita Cedeño, former president Hipólito Mejía and others.

The results are in a survey conducted by the Newlink with 2,000 people, on the 26th of this month, which also places Collado over Abinader and Mejía in the electorate’s preference as a PRM candidate.
