Dorian turns away but will leave rough surf

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) on Wed. said eight provinces continue under a flash flood alert as Tropical Storm Dorian, soon to strengthen to hurricane, is 450 kilometers southeast of Saona Island.

San Pedro de Macorís, La Romana, Hato Mayor, La Altagracia, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Seibo, Monte Plata are on green alert.

It said the alerts include the coastal strip from Saona Island to Samaná, “where maritime conditions in the coastal strip will deteriorate, from Samaná to Puerto Plata.”
