Two colonels arrested on who tipped off the ‘Abuser’

Santo Domingo.- Two colonels and three other officers are under arrest to be investigated as to whether they were the ones who tipped off the alleged drug trafficker César Emilio Peralta (César el Abusador), that an arrest warrant had been issued against him and his operation’s chiefs, and that their homes and businesses would be raided, a senior military source said Tuesday.

They declined to reveal the identity of the two superior officers, but assured that it’s suspected that they were the ones who leaked the information to the Abuser, and that for that reason they would’ve been paid a high sum in dollars.

Two weeks after the raids by Dominican authorities together with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents, the whereabouts are unknown of Peralta and other members of the network that he allegedly ran and that the United States accuses of shipping thousands of tons of cocaine into its territory.

The authorities also investigate why the immigration alert was sent late, El Nacional reports.
