30 lawmakers to testify in Odebrecht US$92M graft case

Santo Domingo.- Around 30 deputies from all major parties, with representation in Congress, would be subpoenaed as defense witnesses by businessman and lobbyist Angel Rondón, the main suspect in the Odebrecht case.

The Brazilian company admitted paying Dominican Govt. officials US$92 million in in the country in exchange for public works contracts worth billions of dollars.

Diario Libre reports that Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD) deputy José Altagracia González, confirmed that the legislators are scheduled to testify as witnesses for Rondon on September 12.
