Dominican Navy boat delivers aid to the Bahamas

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Navy boat Didiez Burgos has already been in the Bahamas since Saturday, after a 5-day sail with 35 tons of food and medicine to that island-nation ravaged by Hurricane Dorian.

The ship sailed from the San Souci Naval Station, carrying the donation of supplies, as well as 62 members of the Navy, National Army and Dominican military search and rescue crews.

Navy spokesman captain José Geraldo Fajardo, said the donation, sent by the Dominican government through the Defense and Foreign Affairs ministries was immediately delivered to Bahamian authorities
