The country again joins Venezuela fray

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic has been reinserted, although with a more secondary and indirect role than it had previously played, in the negotiations to restore Venezuela’s democratic, social and economic order.

Yesterday, Foreign minister Miguel Vargas participated with the president of the United States, Donald Trump, and a group of 11 regional leaders in a debate aimed at finding a consensual solution to the crisis in the South American country.

The country’s position stresses the need to seek free elections with the participation of all sectors and observed by international organizations.
