Accused in ‘sale of barrio’ face trial

Santo Domingo.- The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (Pepca) on Mon. filed charges against Leoncio Almanzar, former director of the Dominican Corporation of State Companies (Corde) and 16 others indicted in the illegal sale of land in the Los Tres Brazos sector, Santo Domingo Este.

The Pepca filed the charges at the National District Instruction Courts Coordinating Office, which will rule on whether to order a criminal trial.

All are accused of prevarication, embezzlement, bribery, criminal conspiracy, fraud, forgery and other felonies against the State.
