Agents nab a Dominican, American wanted in NY

Santo Domingo.- The National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) on Wed. said it arrested in San Francisco de Macorís (northeast) a Dominican and an American wanted in the United States, accused of kidnapping and sexual abuse.

The Dominican Edwin Cortorreal and the American Franklin Samuel Betances were arrested at Las Águilas, San Francisco de Macorís.

The DNCD said there were several arrest warrants pending for both detainees, issued by the New York southern district Court on charges of kidnapping, sexual abuse and illegal firearms.

The two are being held at DNCD headquarters to await extradition.
