Ex-president says alliance aims to clear out the Palace

Santo Domingo.- Former President Leonel Fernández on Mon. said that a great opposition alliance is being forged to dislodge those who “abducted the acronym of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).”

The president of the opposition party People’s Force (FP), who led in La Vega a rally of hundreds of former PLD members, said that 21 days ago he presented resignation as president of the PLD and that at that time the new party is becoming a determining force ahead of the 2020 elections.

“We have woven alliances with several parties, including the Christian Social Reform Party (PRSC), the National Unity Party (PUN), the Social Democratic Institutional Bloc (BIS), the Quisqueyano Christian Democratic Party (PQDC), the National Progressive Force (FNP) ) and the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) itself, because the slogan is clear: that in 20, those in the PLD, “are going out,” he said.
