Army seizes bootleg cigarettes worth RD$10.0M

San Juan de la Maguana, Dominican Republic.- The Dominican Army on Tuesday said it seized a shipment of bootleg cigarettes worth more than RD$10 million.

The cigarette smuggling was carried in a red Mack truck, without plates and without markings.

It said the rig was driven by Luis Francisco Ureña Martínez, who said that the cargo would be transported to the city of Santo Domingo.
