OAS kudos: Dominicans braved virus to go vote

Santo Domingo.- The Organization of American States (MOE/OAS) Electoral Observation Mission on Fri. released its preliminary report in which it recognizes the Dominican people’s civic commitment, “attending the polls despite the exceptional circumstances that the country is going through, in the context of the pandemic caused by covid-19.”

The Mission recognized the extraordinary effort of the electoral authorities in the successful organization of the elections, which also constitute the third electoral process in the current year.

The preliminary report comes two days after its mission chief, former President of Chile, Eduardo Frei Ruiz-Tagle, praised Dominicans for an “exemplary” electoral process.
