Young challenges are in employment, health and education
Dominican youth continue to face significant challenges in education, health, security, and employment. The affirmation comes from Patria Rodrguez, World Vision Dominican Republic’s national coordinator of Participation and Leadership, who mentioned the problems faced by young people in the country during the panel “Socioeconomic Opportunities and Challenges of Adolescents and Young People in the Dominican Republic,” held yesterday to commemorate National Youth Day.
In this regard, World Vision’s national director, Juan Carlo Ramirez, urged society and the main actors to play a critical role in comprehensive, sustainable, and quality development for Dominican youth, particularly the most vulnerable.
However, Ramirez stated that World Vision will continue to work with communities to provide more opportunities for children and young people.
It is good the young are getting attention. They deserve to be seen. However, is there a national seniors day? It appears the folks with a lot of good mileage and knowledge are forgotten and ignored once they are past 40. The graying population needs attention too!
