Where is Hurricane Tammy moving to?

Santo Domingo—The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported that hurricane Tammy was located this Tuesday near latitude 24.2 north and longitude 62.3 west, about 935 kilometers south/southeast of Bermuda (Lesser Antilles).

In its 1:00 p.m. bulletin, the institution indicated that the atmospheric phenomenon is moving northeast at about 13 kph and is expected to continue with this path until Wednesday.

It added that Tammy’s maximum sustained winds are at 120 kph, with higher gusts. “Strengthening is forecast over the next two days. Weakening is expected after that, it is forecast to become a post-tropical cyclone on Thursday,” Onamet said.

It added that tropical-storm-force winds extend 220 km outside its center.

“The minimum central pressure is at 987 millibars.”
