Abinader on Nayib Bukele’s statement: ‘Hope he is part of the peacekeeping mission in Haiti’

Santo Domingo.- Yesterday, President Luis Abinader addressed remarks made by the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, who asserted that his government could address the escalating violence crisis in Haiti. In response, President Abinader expressed his optimism that Bukele might participate in the peacekeeping mission in Haiti.

“Hopefully, he will be part of the mission. The more countries involved, the more interesting it would be. However, this is a matter for those who will work and coordinate the peacekeeping mission in Haiti,” stated Abinader in response to questions during La Semanal.

Furthermore, the Head of State clarified that the Dominican Republic is not a member of Caricom. The Dominican Government issued a statement through which it outlined its position.

In Jamaica, several leaders of the Caribbean Community (Caricom), alongside U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Mexican Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena, and representatives from the UN, France, and Canada, are convening on Monday to discuss advancing a political transition in Haiti to address the ongoing crisis

Nayib Bukele’s system of gang (violence) control could work in Haiti. However, because of the unsympathetic manner in which it is used to address gang activity, should El Salvador go there. could deter some world organizations from participating in a peace keeping mission, organizations who otherwise would take part.

It could be suggested Pres Abinader is just talking about Bukele to get the world’s attention focused on Haiti.

It is doubtful there will be any future El Salvador occupation in Haiti.

Yes, the little mestizos will be easy targets for the Haitians. Banana republics cannot occupy each other..
