Dominican coffee companies to participate in ‘Specialty Coffee 2024’

Santo Domingo.- The Export and Investment Center of the Dominican Republic (ProDominicana) has announced the participation of 11 Dominican companies in the upcoming international fair ‘Specialty Coffee 2024’. Scheduled to take place from April 12 to 14 in Chicago, United States, the event will serve as a gathering point for experts, producers, roasters, distributors, and coffee enthusiasts worldwide, facilitating knowledge exchange, product showcasing, and exploration of business opportunities within the premium coffee sector.

According to a press release, Dominican producers will leverage this platform to showcase the country’s exportable Creole coffee offerings, forge connections with international buyers, and engage in conferences and hands-on learning sessions organized by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA).

Biviana Riveiro, the executive director of ProDominicana, reiterated the organization’s commitment to advancing the presence of Dominican export companies in global trade fairs, aligning with the objectives outlined in the National Export Promotion Plan.

“Attendees will have the opportunity to discover the latest innovations in the coffee industry, gain insights on creatively integrating specialty coffee into their business strategies, and capitalize on the myriad business prospects available at this prestigious event,” Riveiro emphasized.

Wondering how much of this facilitating at the fair involves networking with sellers of foreign coffees? The foreign coffees that may be purchased to blend with Dominican stocks when domestic product is unable to meet local demand.

Climate change and disease is threatening coffee production worldwide.
