What time will the first bulletin of the 2024 election be issued?

Santo Domingo- The first results of the elections are eagerly awaited once the polling stations close and the counting begins. In this Sunday’s elections, the first report will be given with 20% of the votes counted at 8:30 p.m.

With 20% corresponds to the votes per municipality and then every 15 minutes it is updated.

“On this occasion, as we have two single-member levels, the presidential and the senatorial and then the third, which is for deputies, which is plurinominal, with the agreement of the political parties, the following was reached: that it would be 20% or 8:30 at night, the first thing that would happen,” said the president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE). Román Jáquez Liranzo Jáquez when he made the announcement.

He indicated that this schedule was decided because both the Central Electoral Board and the political parties have considered that it is possible to have a significant representation of the senate level.

“That’s why at 8:30 a.m. you would have a significant percentage, maybe 20 percent of the presidential level and a percentage, not 20 percent, but close to the senatorial level,” Jaquez said.

This Sunday, 8,145,548 Dominicans are called to vote.

The venues will be operating from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. this Sunday in the Dominican Republic.

Nationals who come to exercise the right to vote may enter the electoral precinct with cell phones; however, they are prohibited from “taking photos, selfies, recording inside polling stations, or photographing ballots or votes.”

“First, the count of the presidential level will be made, once it is concluded, it will be transmitted and until it is transmitted, it cannot begin with the digitization of the level of senators; and after it is transmitted, the level of deputations begins,” he explained.
