President Abinader will meet with Fernandez and Martinez

Santo Domingo.- The President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, is scheduled to meet with Leonel Fernández and Abel Martínez tonight. This information was disclosed by the Presidency’s spokesperson, Homero Figueroa, who specified that the meeting with Fernández will take place at 8:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Global and Development Foundation (Funglode), followed by a meeting with Abel Martínez at 9:00 p.m. at the National House of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD).

Figueroa emphasized that these meetings are aimed at fostering unity and collaboration necessary for the development and welfare of the Dominican Republic, transcending political differences. He recalled President Abinader’s remarks during his victory speech, stressing the importance of inclusion and collaboration among all sectors of the country. Abinader stated, “In democracy, no one wins or loses everything. The time that begins today requires us all to be united, those who have won and also those who have not.”

Furthermore, Abinader reaffirmed his commitment to national unity, asserting that “above the political differences between parties lies the Dominican Republic.” Figueroa highlighted Abinader’s call for immediate action and joint collaboration, emphasizing the urgency to continue building a prosperous and democratic nation.

Figueroa expressed that these meetings between President Abinader, former President Leonel Fernández, and Abel Martínez signify a significant step towards fostering a spirit of collaboration and mutual respect essential for the progress and stability of the country.
