Today, Mother’s Day, we wake up with cloudy weather that generates scattered showers in several provinces of the country, including Samaná, Monte Pla, Hato Mayor, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, María Trinidad Sánchez, Peravia, among others, reported the National Meteorological Office.
The Onamet specified that afternoon, the trough that affects the meteorological conditions over the area and a tropical wave that will transit to the south of our territory, over the Caribbean Sea, will continue to increase cloudiness and generate heavy downpours at times with electrical storms and gusts of wind, towards the northeast, southeast, and north regions, the Central Mountain Range, and the border area, especially over provinces such as El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, Santiago, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, San José de Ocoa, Azua, Elías Piña, San Cristóbal, El Gran Santo Domingo, among others nearby.

«At the beginning of the night, “This rainfall is expected to decrease gradually, leaving a sky with scattered to partly cloudy clouds and little rain throughout the country,” the entity stated in the 6:00 a.m. weather report.

On Monday, rains are expected to continue in much of the Dominican geography due to the humidity associated with the tropical wave and the effects of the trough; therefore, from the first hours of the day, cloudy weather accompanied by heavy downpours will occur. Electrical storms and gusts of wind, in much of the national territory, especially in provinces such as La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, La Vega, Santiago, Monseñor Nouel, San Cristóbal, San José de Ocoa, Azua, San Juan, Duarte, Sánchez Ramírez, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, El Gran Santo Domingo, and surrounding areas.
