CAASD ensures stable water supply and quality

Santo Domingo.- The Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (CAASD) has announced that drinking water production remains stable, delivering 429 million gallons per day to serve all users in Greater Santo Domingo.

Fellito Suberví, the general director of CAASD, commended the efforts of CAASD technicians who successfully addressed 184 pipe breakdowns of various sizes over the past week, significantly enhancing service efficiency.

“Breakdowns are a major challenge since water pressure often impacts shallow pipes, leading to water loss and potential contamination. Our teams act swiftly to resolve any reported or identified issues as quickly as possible,” said Suberví.

This week, the primary aqueducts are operating normally. The Valdesia aqueduct, the most critical, maintains an average level of 148.18 meters above sea level, and Jigüey is at 539.89 meters. Other water production systems are also functioning smoothly.

To address the turbidity caused by recent downpours across much of the Dominican Republic, the Operations department has used adequate compounds to ensure the water remains potable.
