U.S. Embassy celebrates 248th anniversary of American Independence

Santo Domingo.- The Embassy of the United States in Santo Domingo hosted a reception to commemorate the 248th anniversary of American independence, led by Chargé d’Affaires Patricia Aguilera. The event, attended by President Luis Abinader, First Lady Raquel Arbaje, and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Julio Gómez as guests of honor, emphasized the longstanding cooperation and achievements shared between the two nations.

Aguilera highlighted the 140-year diplomatic relationship between the United States and the Dominican Republic, underscoring significant collaborative milestones in recent years. The reception’s theme, “E Pluribus Unum” (out of many, one), celebrated the unity of states and the cultural diversity of the United States.

Over 500 guests, including leaders from public and private sectors, alumni of U.S. government exchange programs, and professionals from fields such as science, art, and entertainment, attended the event.
