Authorities discover decomposed bodies on boat

This Tuesday afternoon, local authorities discovered a boat containing several bodies along the northern coast of the Dominican Republic, between the provinces of Espaillat and María Trinidad Sánchez.

Preliminary reports indicate that the bodies were in an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting they had been at sea for several days.

It is believed that the deceased were attempting to reach Puerto Rico.

How many more people will die before someone in the government does something real to help the poor. Many do not have ID cards. Instead of making it faster for those well off to get a renewed passport, why not figure out a way to give obvious Dominicans an ID card ?The Dom Rep may be the leading economy in Latin America, but who is this benefitting?

Or…possibly, waive the Cedula fee for those in poverty that can prove their citizenship status. Don’t make the same mistake as the US and give ID’s to anyone and everyone regardless off whether you have proof of citizenship.

I am a Dominican and US Citizen, . Maybe they should do what the US is doing., allowing undocumented into the country, giving them IDs and allowing them to vote to benefit their political agenda., while they keep draining the social services for those who had earned those benefits legally.
